What we collect and how

• Location. We request your device location only when you tap Near me or a current-location button. Near-me searches use approximate coordinates, rounded to about 1 km, which are sent to our servers to find nearby places, appear in the results-page URL and may be included in analytics. We do not continuously track your location or keep a location history. A hotel listing stores the property’s precise coordinates, accuracy and capture time, both in the draft on your device and in the submitted listing on our servers.
• Hotel listing submissions. We collect property name, city and state, reception phone number, booking identifier if supplied, charger power, guns, quantity and access, property location, chosen charger photos, optional billing legal name, GSTIN and billing address, and payment reference and payment screenshot where applicable. Submission status and review notes are also stored. Our current listing form does not ask for a contact name or email address.
• Contact form and reports. We collect your name, email address, optional phone number, sender category (traveller, hotel owner, media or partnership, or other), and message. A charger-problem report also includes the listing information and problem you provide in the message. A hidden anti-spam field helps reject automated submissions.
• Saved hotels and search preferences. Saved hotel identifiers are stored on your device, not as an account-linked saved list on our servers. When you open Saved hotels, the identifiers are sent to our servers to retrieve current public hotel details. Dates, rooms, adults and children’s ages entered for a stay are remembered in your browser session and may appear in search or booking URLs. Search terms with no destination match may be stored with a count to improve our directory.
• Your electric car, if you add one: make, model, battery, registration number and the range you set. We use it to show charging times at hotels.
• If you're signed in, the hotels you recently viewed are saved to your account so they appear on your other devices; you can clear them at any time with 'Clear' under Recently viewed.
• Analytics. Google Analytics collects pages viewed, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP, and cookies or identifiers. Microsoft Clarity collects usage interactions and session recordings to help us understand how pages are used. These services may process page URLs and technical information under their own privacy policies.
• Security data. Our servers process IP addresses and a randomly generated visitor cookie, bevh_vid, for rate limiting and abuse prevention. When limits are exceeded, we record the IP address, requested endpoint and browser user-agent information. Hosting and error-monitoring services may also process request and error information.
• Photos and camera. We receive only the photos you choose to upload for a listing, including a payment screenshot if you provide one. We do not access your photo library or camera in the background. Selected charger photos and unfinished listing details are saved on your device to restore your draft; uploaded files are stored privately for review.
• Notifications. Our mobile apps may show on-device reminders to finish a listing. The website passes the draft’s hotel name and submission-completion signal to the app. The website does not register for remote push notifications or collect a push token.
• Optional accounts. You don't need an account to browse or book. If you create one, we store your name, email address, WhatsApp number, city and state, your optional gender, your optional profile photo, and your list of saved hotels so they're available on every device. Your WhatsApp number, city and state are required on the website and in our Android app, and optional in our iPhone app. We use your WhatsApp number for booking help and important account messages. We send offers and EV travel news on WhatsApp only if you tick the checkbox to receive them, and you can untick it at any time on the Account page. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and we never see them. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page, which permanently deletes your profile details (including your WhatsApp number, offers preference and gender), your saved hotels list and your sign-in details. Our staff sign in separately to manage the directory.

If you ask to be notified about the trip planner, we store your email address only to send you one email when it launches. You can ask us to delete your email through our Contact page.

How we use it

We use information to find relevant hotels, retrieve saved hotel details, show rates and booking links, restore unfinished listings, verify properties and chargers, administer verification and billing, respond to messages and reports, send service emails, manage staff access, improve the directory and protect the service from abuse. Published hotel reception numbers are business contact numbers intended for guests. Listing submissions and their uploaded files are restricted to our review team until information is approved for publication.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising tracking. We use the following services to provide hosting, analytics, maps, communications and bookings. We send them information needed to provide their service; their own privacy policies also apply, and processing may take place outside India.

• Our cloud hosting provider. Hosting, database, authentication, private file storage, technical error reporting and managed transactional email. Contact-message details are included in an email notification to our team.
• Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Usage analytics and, for Clarity, interaction analysis and session recordings.
• Google Maps and Google Places. Maps, directions, place searches and location lookups. Opening a map or directions can send coordinates, place details, IP address and browser information to Google.
• OpenStreetMap. Map tiles when the fallback map is used; tile requests reveal IP address, browser information and the map area being viewed.
• Agoda and other booking partners linked from a listing. Hotel images, rates and bookings. Rate requests and booking links may include hotel identifiers, dates, rooms, guests and children’s ages. Partners handle the booking and payment on their own sites under their own policies; we do not receive your booking payment-card details.
• Google sign-in. Used only for staff sign-in on our website.

We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the safety and rights of users and our service.

How long we keep information

Saved hotels remain on your device until you remove them or clear site/app data. Search preferences are held for the browser session. Listing drafts and cached charger photos remain on your device until successful submission, Start over, or clearing site/app data. The visitor security cookie expires after one year. Rate-limit counters use short request windows and old counters are cleaned up. Submitted listings, uploaded files, contact messages, unmatched-search counts and security incident records have no fixed automatic deletion period configured in the website. We retain these to operate the directory, handle reviews and requests, prevent abuse and meet applicable legal obligations, and consider deletion requests individually. Analytics, hosting logs and backups follow the relevant provider’s retention settings; this policy does not promise a specific deletion deadline for those records.

Your choices and rights

You can deny location permission and search by city instead, remove saved hotels, use Start over to clear an unfinished listing, and clear cookies or local site/app data. Browser privacy controls can restrict analytics cookies and third-party requests, although some functions may be affected. You can manage location, camera and reminder permissions in device settings. To request access to, correction of or deletion of your information, use our Contact page. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and may retain records required by law.

Children

Our service is not directed at children. A parent or adult arranging a stay may enter children’s ages for booking rates. If you believe a child has submitted personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or data practices change. The revised policy and effective date will be published on this page.
